Bloomfield Drug Raid Ends In Arrest, Cocaine and Guns Found
Essex County and local police conducted a raid on a Bloomfield Avenue apartment on Thursday.

Bloomfield, NJ – Authorities conducted a narcotics raid on a Bloomfield apartment on Thursday night, arresting a 40-year-old man and charging him with multiple weapons and drug crimes.
According to the Essex County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff’s detectives and officers from the Bloomfield and Irvington police departments executed a search warrant for a basement studio apartment at 622 – 624 Bloomfield Avenue around 6:25 p.m.
Police spotted and detained the target of their investigation, Eugene Liles, as he exited his residence, authorities stated.

After conducting a pat-down search of Liles, officers found eight zip-lock bags of cocaine, authorities stated.
Upon entering the residence, officers observed several surveillance cameras outside the apartment. Officers seized fully loaded 9 mm Glock and .45 caliber Republic Arms handguns located on a computer console with a video recording device.

Inside the apartment, officers found a brown paper bag inside a desk that reportedly contained more than 78 grams of uncut cocaine and a wide assortment of drug packaging and processing materials, authorities stated.
Authorities charged Liles with two counts each of the unlawful possession of a weapon and the possession of a weapon while committing a narcotics crime, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of CDS with intent to distribute, possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of Bloomfield High School, possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 500 feet of Venner Park, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and the maintenance of fortified premises.
Liles was also found to have an open warrant issued by the Bloomfield municipal court.
During an arraignment on Friday, Likes was ordered held at the Essex County jail in lieu of $500,000 cash bond only.
