Bloomfield Educational Foundation to Fund 28 Grant Requests
The Bloomfield Educational Foundation will be funding grants in support of education across the district.

The Bloomfield Educational Foundation announced it will be funding 28 grant requests for a total of $37,430.59.
Technology requests dominated the Extraordinary Grant requests, the Bloomfield Educational Foundation said. Among those were requests for 46 iPads to “support classrooms across the district to enhance reading and writing skills, social studies and science comprehension and reading, writing for students with severe disabilities who are too physically unable to write, the inclusive kindergarten program and resource room students, translation studies for students learning English, special education math and language arts,” according to a news release from the BEF.
Additionally, two SmartBoards were requested for kindergarten classrooms in Demarest and Carteret. The grants will also provide the funding for a published author to hold a series of workshops for students and parents at Oak View, the news release said.

The Joseph Kliminski Grant applications awarded numerous things to support education around the district, as well. The grants awarded will provide two iPads to support speech and communication and to explore science and social studies, documents cameras, an electronic alphabet for early childhood learners, an outdoor garden, a designing bridges segment for engineering activities, readers workshops and supplies to augment the Gifted and Talented program, the Bloomfield Educational Foundation said.
