Bloomfield Firefighters Earn Awards For Going ‘Above And Beyond’
Bloomfield Fire Chief: "A career path in public safety is chosen because you want to help others."
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — It’s not unusual for a Bloomfield firefighter to go “above and beyond” when they’re on duty. And earlier this week, several of them earned some well-deserved kudos for taking the extra step to make sure their community is safe.
The Bloomfield Fire Department held its annual awards ceremony on Monday, paying tribute to firefighters who “went above and beyond the call of duty” during 2021.
“The Bloomfield Fire Department is proud of our firefighters,” Chief Louis Venezia said.

“A career path in public safety is chosen because you want to help others,” Venezia continued. “The firefighters that were recognized at this year’s award ceremony have shown that desire to help with their commitment to training, professionalism, and being able to perform under some of the most stressful situations.”
“Their actions ensured that the residents involved in these emergencies did not have fatal outcomes and their quick-thinking heroism is applauded,” Venezia underscored.
