Bloomfield First Responders Mingle At Local Block Parties

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield emergency responders have been dropping in at local block parties to join the fun and say hello to their neighbors, officials recently reported.

The Bloomfield Department of Public Safety has been sharing news about the police and firefighter visits on social media, including recent trips to parties on Watchung Place, Thomas Street and Brookdale Road.

Bloomfield residents interested in hosting their own block party can fill out an application online.

Here are a few points to consider when planning your party:

• Will you have a rain date?
• What time will the party start/end?
• Will you serve alcoholic beverages?
• Who will put up/take down barricades?
