Bloomfield Gas Line Repairs Shut Down Montgomery Street

Bloomfield police are urging local motorists to use caution and expect delays in the area.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police urged local motorists to “use caution” and expect delays when driving on Montgomery Street after gas line repairs shut down the busy road on Tuesday.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following advisory at 1:22 p.m.:

“PSE&G will be repairing the gas line on Montgomery Street. The road will be closed from JFK Dr. (N) - Walnut Street. Be advised that detours around work area are posted and there will be HEAVY TRAFFIC delays due to high volume of traffic, schools in the area and exits and entrances to the Garden State Parkway. Please adjust your routes to work if possible and allow yourself extra time for the delays. Officers are working on scene to assist with traffic control. PLEASE USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING THROUGH THIS AREA.”
