Bloomfield Gas Station Robbed At Gunpoint, Cops Make Arrest
Police arrested men from Montclair and Newark who allegedly robbed a Bloomfield gas station and led cops on a chase through Essex County.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Authorities arrested a pair of men from Montclair and Newark who allegedly robbed a Bloomfield gas station at gunpoint, then led police on a car chase through Essex County that ended with a crash in Irvington, police say.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the Shell gas station on Beach Street on June 12 after receiving a report of an armed robbery. A gas station attendant told officer that two men robbed him at gunpoint, then got into a black Acura and made their way toward Belleville on Belleville Avenue.
Police soon spotted the Acura and began a pursuit, which led through multiple towns before ending when the Acura crashed into a vehicle in Irvington, authorities said.

After the crash, Essex County Sherriff’s officers and Bloomfield and Irvington units moved in and arrested both suspects: Clinton Scott, 45, of Montclair, and William Jones, 46, of Newark.
Neither the suspects or the officers suffered serious injuries in the collision, police said.

After obtaining a search warrant for the impounded car, police found a black pellet gun inside the vehicle, authorities said.
Both suspects were detained at the Essex County Correctional Facility.
