BLOOMFIELD, NJ — UPDATE: The census kick-off event in Bloomfield scheduled for March 12 has been canceled due to concerns over the novel coronavirus. Our original article follows below.

In preparation for the 2020 Census, the township will be holding a Census Kick-Off event on Thursday, March 12 at 6 p.m. in front of the Municipal Building at 1 Municipal Plaza. The Mayor and Township Council will be in attendance for the event as they continue to help raise awareness for the census.

“It is critically important that all residents in Bloomfield are aware of the upcoming 2020 Census,” said Mayor Michael Venezia. “Our township is going to great lengths to ensure that there is a high level of awareness about what the census is and why every resident must be counted. We want to take advantage of all of the funding available to us over the next ten years as a result of an accurate count. I look forward to seeing everyone at our Census Kick-Off event on Thursday.”
