Bloomfield Home Burglarized, $15K In Jewelry, Laptop Stolen: PD

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A Bloomfield resident lost jewelry and a laptop worth a combined $15,500 during a home burglary earlier this month, police said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to a Franklin Street home on Jan. 10 after receiving a report about a burglary. The victim told officers that she returned home from work at 10:10 p.m. and saw her apartment door was damaged.

In addition, the bedroom drawers were rummaged through and jewelry was missing, as well as a Dell laptop, authorities said.

Police observed “tool marks” on the door handle to the apartment and dead bolt. An investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
