Bloomfield Homes Burglarized, Cars Stolen: Police
Several vehicle-related crimes were reported in Bloomfield, including two home burglaries that involved stolen cars, police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Several vehicle-related crimes were reported in Bloomfield last week, including two home burglaries that involved stolen cars, authorities announced Wednesday.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about four recent incidents in the township.
Aug. 15 – "Officers responded to the area of Parkway West on report of an attempted motor vehicle theft. A resident noticed that the rear passenger window of her vehicle was shattered. The resident then observed a pocket knife inside the vehicle and the ignition was tampered with. This incident is under investigation."

Aug. 15 – "Officers responded to the area of Farrandale Avenue on report of a motor vehicle theft. A resident was advised by Newark police officers that her vehicle was recovered in the City of Newark and arrests were made by the Newark Police Department. The resident did confirm that her vehicle was missing from her residence. This incident is under investigation."
Aug. 17 – "Officers responded to the area of Haines Drive on report of a residential burglary and motor vehicle theft. A resident heard noise coming from the kitchen and upon further investigation, she noticed items were out of place and observed suspects driving away with her vehicle. According to the resident, the suspects entered through a garage window and once inside, entered the kitchen and took the keys to her vehicle and her wallet. The vehicle, a grey 2020 Volkswagen Passat, was entered into the NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation."

Aug. 18 – "Officers responded to the 500-block of Bloomfield Avenue on report of an attempted motor vehicle theft. The complainant parked her vehicle in a parking lot and upon returning she noticed the ignition was tampered with. This incident is under investigation."
Aug. 19 – "Officers responded to the area of Donald Street on report of a burglary and motor vehicle theft. A resident parked his vehicle inside his locked garage and upon returning to it the following morning, he noticed the garage door handle broken and the vehicle missing. The vehicle, a grey 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was entered into the NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation."
