Bloomfield House Takes Fire Damage In Blaze, But No Injuries: BFD

The BFD got aid from Belleville, Nutley, Montclair, Clifton, Newark, West Orange, South Essex Fire, Orange and Irvington, authorities said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ -- A home in Bloomfield suffered heavy fire damage during a blaze on Monday, authorities said.

According to a statement from the Bloomfield Fire Department:

"On March 18, a few minutes before 2:30 p.m., all Bloomfield fire companies responded to a report of a working house fire on Pitt Street. While responding, central communications advised companies they were receiving multiple calls reporting the fire. Units arrived to heavy fire showing from the front of the main fire building which had already extended into the Delta exposure."

"We’d like to thank our automatic aid partners from Belleville and Nutley along with the additional mutual aid from Montclair, Clifton, Newark and West Orange who responded to the scene, along with South Essex Fire, Orange and Irvington for providing house coverage ... Simultaneously during this fire, the mutual aid companies, along with Bloomfield Engine 1, battled a fully involved vehicle fire on the [northbound portion of the Garden State Parkway] at 149."
