Bloomfield Houses Of Worship Report Theft, Burglary
Bloomfield Police: A burglary was reported at Temple Ner Tamid. A theft was reported at Sacred Heart Church.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A burglary and a theft were recently reported at two houses of worship in Bloomfield, authorities say.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, a burglary was reported at Temple Ner Tamid on Broad Street on Dec. 6. An employee told officers that a man entered the synagogue through a side door that was left open.
The suspect was described as a Caucasian male with a thin-build and a goatee. He was wearing a grey-hooded sweatshirt with red lettering, police said.

Surveillance video showed the man enter the building, then exit once the alarm sounds, police said.
Nothing was removed or damaged, authorities said.

CHURCH THEFT
According to Bloomfield police, officers responded to Sacred Heart Church on Broad Street after getting a report about a theft on Dec. 12.
An employee told officers that a man entered the church through the rear and stole a black backpack, which contained a laptop and an external hard drive valued at $1,300.
The suspect was described as an African American male, who was wearing a black coat, a grey-hooded sweatshirt and a black beanie, and using a red walker, police said.
The church’s video surveillance was recovered and the theft is under investigation, Bloomfield police said.
