Bloomfield Man Arrested For Pushing Cop During Ambulance Argument

The man was allegedly attempting to speak to his wife, police say.

An ambulance call ended up turning into an aggravated assault charge on June 30, when Bloomfield police arrested a local man for pushing a police officer.

The incident took place when two officers responded to a call about a sick woman on Belleville Avenue. After giving the 20-year-old woman first aid, the officers turned her over to the care of Belleville EMS responders, who placed her in their ambulance to continue treating her.

At that time, the woman’s husband, Joshua Pizarro, 23, approached the ambulance. While attempting to see his wife, Pizarro became verbally abusive and pushed one officer in the chest, police reported.
