Bloomfield Man Attacked, Robbed While Walking Home From Train Station: Cops

A 34-year-old man suffered serious bruises after being attacked and robbed in Bloomfield, police say.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A 34-year-old man suffered serious bruises after being attacked and robbed in Bloomfield last month, police say.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the area of Arlington and Watsessing Avenues around 9:29 p.m. on Jan. 29 after receiving a report of a robbery. The victim told officers that someone struck him from behind while he was walking home from the train station.

The man’s wallet was stolen during the incident, police said.

Emergency responders transported the victim to Clara Maass Hospital where he was treated for “significant bruising,” police said.

Bloomfield detectives are investigating the incident, authorities stated.
