Bloomfield Man Charged With Burglarizing Parents’ Home: Police

A Bloomfield man is accused of burglarizing his parents' home while they were away on vacation, police say.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A Bloomfield man is accused of burglarizing his parents’ home while they were away on vacation, police say.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the Weaver Avenue homeowners told officers that they returned from vacation on Oct. 30 and they noticed that their residence was burglarized.

The homeowners told police that the missing items included jewelry and money, authorities said.

Police subsequently identified the suspected burglar as the homeowners’ son, a 33-year-old Bloomfield man, who later admitted to committing the theft, authorities stated.

Police found six decks of suspected heroin in the man’s possession when he was arrested. He also had an active warrant out of Bergen County, authorities said.

Authorities charged the 33-year-old with burglary and theft. His bail was set at $20,000.
