Bloomfield Man Died Over Over Super Bowl Bet

Eddie Roberson, 31, was convicted Wednesday in the death of Talif Crowley of Bloomfield over a Super Bowl bet.

A Newark man has been convicted of killing his friend over a Super Bowl bet.

Eddie Roberson, 31, was convicted Wednesday in the death of Talif Crowley, a 38-year-old Bloomfield man, NBC News reported.

Roberson and Crowley were friends who made a $700 bet on the 2013 Super Bowl. When Roberson lost and didn’t want to pay up, he shot and killed Crowley, according to authorities.

Roberson will be sentenced on Jan. 22, NJ.com reported.
