Bloomfield Man Fatally Shot In Newark; No Arrests Made: Prosecutors

A fatal shooting in Newark claimed the life of a 25-year-old Bloomfield resident, authorities said.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A Bloomfield man was fatally shot in Newark on Wednesday night, authorities said.

The deceased victim was identified as Lance Sally Jr., 25, of Bloomfield, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Police responded to the 100-block of Salem Street in Newark at 7:34 p.m. after getting a report about a shooting. On arrival, the officers found Sally suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:55 p.m.

No arrests have been made as of Thursday morning. A police investigation continues, prosecutors said.
