Bloomfield Man Hit With Baseball Bat During Argument: Police
Bloomfield police arrived on Williamson Avenue after receiving a report about multiple people fighting in the street.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police arrested two men after one allegedly attacked the other with a baseball bat during an argument in the middle of Williamson Avenue earlier this month, authorities say.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the 100 block of Williamson Avenue on Dec. 4 after receiving a report about multiple people fighting in the street. On arrival, the officers found two men confronting each other and a female sitting inside a grey Honda Accord.
During the argument, Hector Perez, 36, of East Orange, allegedly took out a baseball bat and struck James Tillis, 28, of Bloomfield, in the arm, police stated.

After speaking with all parties, Bloomfield police arrested Tillis and Perez. Authorities charged Perez with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Authorities charged Tillis with driving while intoxicated.
