Bloomfield Mayor, 3 Council Members Unopposed In Primary Election
Bloomfield's mayor and three council members won't face any challengers in the 2022 primary election.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield’s mayor and three council members up for re-election won’t face any challengers in the 2022 primary election, according to the Essex County Clerk’s Office.

Incumbent Mayor Michael Venezia is running unopposed for the Democratic Party nomination. No candidates filed to run for the Republican Party nod as of last week’s deadline.

Likewise, Richard Rockwell, Wartyna Davis and Ted Gamble – all Democrats – are running unopposed for three-year terms on the Bloomfield Town Council. No candidates filed to run for the Republican Party nomination.
The primary election in New Jersey takes place on Tuesday, June 7. The winners of that election will earn their party's nomination for the general election, which takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
