In Bloomfield: New Exec. Director At Partners For Women & Justice

The Board of Trustees of Partners for Women and Justice is thrilled to announce the selection of Julie A. Murphy, Esq. as the next Executive Director of Partners for Women and Justice.

Julie is a strategic leader with a commitment to fostering the empowerment of others. In her six years at Union County Legal Services, she represented clients in domestic violence and family law matters and developed a keen understanding of the legal and emotional complexities involved in domestic violence work. Julie went on to become the head of strategy for Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA), a national organization dedicated to girl-centered leadership. During her tenure, GSUSA created a transformational strategy leading to the total redesign of the Girl Scout program and to the merger of more than 200 affiliate organizations. The changes resulted in financially stronger organizations and a better Girl Scout experience. After 10 years with the Girl Scouts, and driven by a desire to inspire others to become effective leaders, Julie founded Oakwood Leadership. At Oakwood, she has consulted with many organizations on leadership development and delivered custom programs on emotional intelligence, resilience, and mindfulness. As a volunteer, Julie facilitates dialogues on race and racism to support learning and deeper understanding among participants.

She holds a law degree from Brooklyn Law School and an undergraduate degree from Rutgers College.
