Bloomfield Parks, Scouts Honor Veterans With Flags On Street Signs

Town workers got help from Boy Scouts from Troop 22 and Girl Scouts from Troop 20340.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield workers and some local Scouts recently paid tribute to local veterans in advance of Memorial Day by putting U.S. flags and bows on more than two dozen street signs in town.

The Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department shared some info about the effort on social media:

“As we start the month of May, the Bloomfield Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department, with the help of Boy Scouts from Troop 22 and Girl Scouts from Troop 20340, we honored 29 veterans who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. As you drive around town you will notice an American flag and red, white and blue bow on every street sign that has a veteran sign on top. As we prepare for the Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30 to honor all the lives lost, please remember those heroes from Bloomfield, NJ.”
