Bloomfield Police Announce DWI Checkpoint On Busy, Local Road
Bloomfield police will hold a DWI sobriety checkpoint on Dec. 30 due to a "disproportionate number of drunk driving incidents" in the area.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield Police Department will hold a DWI sobriety checkpoint on Bloomfield Avenue on Saturday, Dec. 30. The checkpoint is being organized in response to a “disproportionate number of drunk driving incidents,” authorities announced last week.
According to the BPD:
“The Bloomfield Police Department will be conducting a DWI Sobriety Checkpoint on Bloomfield Avenue on December 30 in response to statistics demonstrating a disproportionate number of drunk driving incidents in the area. These operations are being conducted to raise awareness of impaired driving by educating motorist and arresting impaired drivers. Funding for this operation has been provided by the Drunk Driving Enforcement Fund.”
