BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police made arrests in connection with recent burglaries on Grove Street, Glenwood Avenue and Orange Street, authorities say.

The Bloomfield Police Department offered the following updates on cases in the township.

June 22 - Officers responded to 186 Grove Street (Bloomfield Auto Wreckers) on report of a commercial burglary into a tool shed. The owner stated that on June 21 at 5:30 a.m., he observed from his video surveillance cameras an unknown male enter the shed and steal numerous tools from inside. An investigation was conducted by the Bloomfield Detective Bureau. A 30-year-old Bloomfield resident was charged with burglary and transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility, police said.

June 26 - Officers responded to 162 Glenwood Ave (Kreme and Krumbs) on report of a commercial burglary. The owner stated that on June 26 at 2:24 a.m., she observed from her video surveillance cameras a male who entered into the business through the bathroom window. An investigation was started and the Bloomfield Detective Bureau charged a 28-year-old Bloomfield man with burglary and theft. He was released with a pending court date, police said.

June 26 - Officers responded to 60 Orange St (Home Depot) on report of a shoplifter who just fled the store with tools valued at $664. Patrol officers later stopped a party matching the description of a male riding a bicycle. It was later determined that the man – a 33-year-old resident of Vineland – was the shoplifter and had also stole the bicycle from a Charles Street resident’s garage. He was charged burglary, theft and released with a pending court date, police said.
