Bloomfield Police Arrest Man Accused Of ‘Strong-Arm Robbery’

The victim said he was sitting on his steps when a man approached him and hit him in the face multiple times.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Authorities say they’ve apprehended a man accused of committing a “strong-arm robbery” in Bloomfield last week.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the 300-block of Ampere Parkway on Sept. 17 after receiving a report about a robbery.

The victim said he was sitting on his steps when a man approached him and hit him in the face multiple times. The man then took the victim’s cell phone and cash, and fled on foot on Tunbridge Place towards Grove Street, police said.

After investigating the robbery, Bloomfield police detectives arrested Dwayne Forestal, 23, of East Orange.

Police charged Forestal with robbery and transported him to the Essex County Correctional Facility.
