Bloomfield Police Department To Hold 2016 National Night Out Event
The Bloomfield Police Department will host the 2016 National Night Out event at Foley Field on Aug. 2.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield Police Department will participate in the annual National Night Out event on Tuesday, Aug. 2, according to a news release.
“National Night Out is an annual event where law enforcement, in conjunction with the community, participate in providing a safe gathering place for the night against crime or criminal activities,” the Bloomfield Police Department stated. “The evening is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community interaction and sending a message that neighborhoods nationwide are organized and fighting back.”
The Bloomfield Police Department will host its annual National Night Out celebration on Aug. 2 at 5:30 p.m. at Foley Field.

The event will feature:
- An outdoor concert featuring Joe Bataan and the Barrio Boys - 7:30 p.m.
- A championship softball matchup between local police and firefighters - 6 p.m.
- Free pizza and beverages
“It’s thanks to the hard work of our law enforcement, community leaders and residents of Bloomfield that we can continue celebrating the safety and strength of our neighborhoods,” Police Director Samuel DeMaio said.
