Bloomfield Police To Hold Free Self-Defense Class For Local Women
The Bloomfield Police Department will offer a free self-defense class for local women on July 11 and 13.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield Police Department will offer a free self-defense class for local women on July 11 and 13. According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the STARR self-defense, tactical awareness and risk-recognition program is designed for women to help protect themselves against aggressive behavior.
The two-day course takes place on July 11 and 13, from 7 to 10 p.m., at the Civic Center at 84 Broad Street. Participants must be 18 or older to sign up.
There is limited space available for the class. To register, contact Sgt. Naomi Zepeda at nzepeda@bloomfieldnjpd.com. For more information, contact the BPD community policing unit at 973-680-4096.
