According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to Orange Street after receiving a call about an attempted theft. The complainant said that a heavyset man in glasses tried to swipe two of his forklifts, which were valued at $47,000. The man caused $6,000 worth of damage to the complainant’s fence with one of the forklifts during the theft attempt, police said.
