Bloomfield Puts Kibosh On 665 Potholes Throughout Town
The Bloomfield Department of Public Works said it used more than 10 tons of asphalt to fill hundreds of potholes across the township.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Township of Bloomfield recently put the kibosh on more than 600 potholes on local streets as part of its “Pothole Week,” officials reported Monday.
The Bloomfield Department of Public Works said it used more than 10 tons of asphalt to fill 665 potholes throughout the north and south end of town.
The Pothole Week initiative is a main component of the town’s new program, Clean & Strong Bloomfield, officials said. The campaign encourages community engagement by “soliciting feedback from residents as well as town employees about quality of life issues, suspected criminal activity, infrastructure or roadway issues, or any situation that detracts from a safe and harmonious community environment.”

“Dilapidated streets pose a significant safety hazard for all roadway users, and can cause severe and costly damage to vehicles,” Mayor Michael Venezia said. “Completely resurfacing these streets will provide residents and business owners with peace of mind for years to come.”
