BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A Bloomfield resident recently interrupted a burglary in progress at her home, authorities announced Friday.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to a home on Berkeley Heights Park on July 29 after getting a report about a burglary.

The resident told officers that she heard a loud noise coming from the first floor. When she went downstairs to investigate, she saw three men wearing all-black clothing and gloves standing in the foyer. The men immediately ran out of the front door and got into a vehicle, which was parked outside.

The suspects got into the home by pulling an air conditioning unit out of the front window, authorities said.

A police investigation continues, authorities said. No additional information was immediately available.
