Bloomfield Residents Report 6 Stolen Cars In 6 Days: Police

Bloomfield police say vehicles were reported stolen on Orchard, Davey, Beardsley, Oakland, Washington and Oakwood.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield residents reported six stolen motor vehicles during a six day period last month, police say. According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following incidents recently took place in the township:

  • 8/22/2016 – A 1999 Acura was reported stolen from Orchard Avenue. The vehicle was left unattended and running with a portable air compressor attached to the tire. The owner was inside the house and returned to discover vehicle missing.
  • 8/23/2016 – A 1998 Honda Civic was reported stolen from Davey Street. The vehicle was parked in the rear parking lot of the complex and discovered missing the next day.
  • 8/26/2016 - Officers on patrol discovered a 2007 Jeep Liberty parked on Beardsley Ave. The vehicle was unoccupied with the window shattered, wipers on and the vehicle in drive. The ignition was also discovered damaged. The registered owner was located, who informed police that the vehicle was parked and secured at about 9 p.m. The vehicle was processed for evidence.
  • 8/26/2016 - A 2005 Honda Accord was reported stolen from Oakland Avenue. The registered owner parked her vehicle at 4 p.m. and discovered the vehicle missing the next morning.
  • 8/26/2016 – A 2000 Ford Van was reported stolen from Washington Street. The registered owner parked the vehicle in front of his house at 6 p.m. and discovered the van missing the next morning at 8 a.m.
  • 8/27/2016 - A white 1996 Ford Van was reported stolen from Oakwood Avenue. The registered owner parked the vehicle in front of her residence and discovered the van missing the next morning.
