Bloomfield’s Water Safe To Drink Despite Discoloration: Official

Bloomfield officials have received complaints of water discoloration in the south and central parts of town, a report says.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield’s water is safe to drink, township officials say.

Township Administrator Matthew Watkins told NorthJersey.com that municipal officials received complaints from residents in the south and central part of town about “water discoloration” during the weekend, an issue that extended into Belleville and Newark.

However, the town’s water is safe for drinking, Watkins reportedly said.

Watkins told NorthJersey.com that water discoloration is not uncommon and that town officials are keeping an eye on the situation.

“Let [the water] sit and it will settle," he stated.
