Due to forecasts of bad winter weather, all Bloomfield public schools will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 31, officials said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Due to forecasts of bad winter weather, all Bloomfield public schools will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 31, officials said.
"In light of the frigid weather predictions for tomorrow, the Superintendent has conferred with the Board President and has decided to close all schools tomorrow, Thursday, January 31, 2019," school administrators wrote. "This decision was not reached lightly but rather after conference with other superintendents and thoughtful consideration of our pupils walking to school or waiting for a bus in predicted single-digit temperatures."
All after school activities will similarly be closed for Jan. 31, Bloomfield officials added. See more emergency closing information here.
