Bloomfield Schools Extend Remote Learning Option For Students
Official: "We ask that you continue to have patience with our teaching staff as they provide the best possible education for ALL students."
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield Public School District is extending its temporary virtual option for students, administrators announced Wednesday.
Public schools in Bloomfield returned for in-person classes earlier this month after the holiday break. But administrators also gave local parents a remote learning option, which was scheduled to expire on Friday. Read More: Bloomfield Schools Return In-Person, With Remote Option
The remote option will now last until Friday, Jan. 28, Superintendent Salvatore Goncalves said.

“As we continue to give careful consideration to the local, state and national COVID-19 trends, we would like to extend the voluntary parental remote instruction model through Friday, January 28, 2022,” Goncalves wrote in a letter to the school community.
The superintendent offered the following details about the virtual option:

- “The virtual parental choice learning option will continue on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.”
- “The designated virtual period continues to be temporary and will now end on Friday, January 28, 2022.”
