Bloomfield Sees 3 Home Burglaries In 4 Days: Police
BPD: Three men tried to break into a home with a crowbar. In another incident, officers found footprints outside a window in the snow.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Three attempted home burglaries were reported in Bloomfield last week, authorities announced Wednesday.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident:
Jan. 16 – “Officers responded to the area of Reigate Road on report of an attempted burglary. According to a resident, at 4:53 a.m., three males wearing ski masks attempted to gain entry through the front door, rear door and a window using a crowbar. The males then attempted to gain entry into all four of his vehicles. All attempts were unsuccessful. This incident is under investigation.”

Jan. 16 – “Officers responded to the area of Molter Place on report of an attempted burglary. A resident noticed the front door jamb and both door locks of his business were broken, but nothing appeared to be missing at the time. This incident is under investigation.”
Jan. 19 – “Officers responded to the area of Stonehouse Road on report of an attempted burglary. A resident heard a noise outside and observed a white vehicle leaving the area. Surveillance video from the residence showed two males attempting to pry open the front door. Upon further inspection of the residence, officers found a window screen was removed and fresh footprints were visible in the snow. This incident is under investigation.”
