Bloomfield Sees Wave Of Stolen Cars, Attempted Vehicle Thefts
Here's where the incidents happened, Bloomfield police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A wave of stolen cars and attempted vehicle thefts recently took place in Bloomfield, authorities announced Wednesday.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the following incidents were recently reported in the township:
Jan. 1 – “Officers responded to the area of Clinton Street on report of an Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident parked his vehicle, a 2018 Hyundai Elantra, on the street overnight and the following morning, he noticed the rear passenger window and ignition/steering column were damaged. This incident is under investigation.”

Jan. 1 – “Officers responded to the area of Thomas Street on report of an Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident parked his vehicle, a 2018 Kia Forte, on the street overnight and the following morning he noticed the rear passenger window and ignition/steering column were damaged. This incident is under investigation.”
Jan. 1 – “Officers responded to the 100 block of Washington Street on report of an Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident parked his vehicle, a 2015 Hyundai Sonata, on the street overnight and the following morning he noticed the rear passenger window and ignition/steering column were damaged. A cell phone and work ID were also missing from the center console. This incident is under investigation.”

Jan. 4 – “Officers responded to the 100 block of Liberty Street on report of an Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident observed three males wearing dark clothing and ski masks walk up the driveway. One male entered his 2019 Dodge Charger while the other two males pushed it into the street. The resident then activated the alarm causing the males to flee. This incident is under investigation.”
Jan. 4 – “Officers responded to the 200 block of Belleville Avenue on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident parked his vehicle in his assigned parking spot overnight and the following morning he noticed it was missing. The vehicle, a red 2018 Dodge Challenger, was entered in as stolen. The vehicle was later located in the City of Newark. This incident is under investigation.”
Jan. 5 – “Officers responded to the 100 block of Franklin Street on report of an Attempted Motor Vehicle Theft. The complainant parked his vehicle, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, on the street overnight and the following morning he noticed the rear passenger window and ignition/steering column were damaged. This incident is under investigation.”
Jan. 5 – “Officers responded to the 100 block of LaFrance Avenue on report of a Motor Vehicle Theft. A resident parked his vehicle on the street overnight and the following morning he noticed it was missing. The vehicle, a silver 2016 Hyundai Elantra, was entered in as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”
