Bloomfield Sports: Summer Update
Bloomfield Girls Tennis coach recently crossed a combined career total mark of 500 wins.

Editor's Note: The following was compiled from the June 27th edition of the "Bloomfield Bengals Athletic Update", which was provided by the Bloomfield High School Athletic Department.
- Girls tennis coach Ron Masson recently passed the 500 combined career victory mark this year while coaching the Boys tennis team at Caldwell. Ron has a record of 310-212-2 with BHS serving as the Bengals Coach since 1987. He has an overall record of 513-381-2 with both squads.
- Three-sport Letter Winner Cavan Penberthy, captain of the Bengals baseball team, was named to the ALL-ESSEX first team. Mike Carter and Jared Guglielmino were chosen for the ALL-ESSEX second team. Penberthy was also named third team ALL-GROUP IV.
- Senior Softball Captain Melany Zeller and sophomore Damariz Mercado were named to the ALL-ESSEX second team.
- Bengals Volleyball Captain Keith Barrow was named to the ALL-ESSEX second team.
- Junior Track and Field hurdler Steve Taste made the ALL-ESSEX third team.
- The Bengals baseball team finished the season ranked fifth in Essex County. Likewise, the softball team was ranked eighth in the county.
