Bloomfield ‘Teacher Of The Year’ Is A Social Studies Guru

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — The Bloomfield Public School District has named a local social studies educator as its “Teacher of the Year.”
Shamshadeen Mayers teaches advanced placement U.S. history and advanced placement comparative government and politics in the social studies department. In 2021, he was named the 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year by the New Jersey Council for Social Studies.
Mayers is a Bloomfield native and BHS alumni.
