Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Center gives young filmmakers a prize for their video on Holocaust survivor, Elie Wiesel.

Two Bloomfield Tech High School students – both residents of Belleville - won first place in the 2015 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Center’s national “Speak Truth to Power National Video Contest.”

Seniors Christopher A. Rodriguez and Julio Villegas took the award for their five-minute film about genocide, which focused on Holocaust survivor and human rights activist Elie Wiesel.

The film was premiered during a screening for students and staff at the Essex County LeRoy Smith Building on April 21, and was shown during the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.
