Bloomfield Police: Teen Punched Juvenile In Face, Knocked Him To Ground

Bloomfield police charged a 16-year-old male with aggravated assault after he allegedly punched a 14-year-old male victim in the face.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Bloomfield police charged a 16-year-old male with aggravated assault after he allegedly punched a 14-year-old male victim in the face earlier this month, knocking him to the ground and causing him to hit his head, authorities say.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, the incident took place around 3 p.m. on May 1 on Ward Street. Emergency responders transported the younger teen to University Hospital for treatment.

With the assistance of the Glen Ridge Police Department, Bloomfield officers found the 16-year-old walking on Bloomfield Avenue shortly after the incident. Officers arrested him, transported him to the Youth Aid Division and charged him with aggravated assault, authorities said.
