Bloomfield Teens Robbed, Punched On Grove Street: Police

The suspects allegedly stole the victims' boots and cell phone, Bloomfield police say.

Bloomfield, NJ – Two Bloomfield teens reported that a group of men attacked and robbed them on Grove Street on Sunday, police said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, a 19-year-old female and 16-year-old male told officers that they were walking on Grove Street when five or six men approached them and demanded money.

One suspect allegedly motioned to his pocket and told the pair “if you don’t give me everything I’ll shoot,” police stated.

During the encounter, the suspects allegedly punched the female victim in the face and kicked her when she fell to the ground.

The suspects also allegedly punched the male victim in the face, police said.

Following the alleged assault, the suspects stole the female’s boots and the male’s cell phone then fled on foot on Grove Street, police stated.

Emergency responders treated both victims for their injuries, and the Bloomfield Detective Bureau and NJ Transit police conducted an on-scene investigation, authorities stated.
