Bloomfield: Three Family Pets Die in House Fire

Emergency workers save one cat, but three dogs succumb to injuries suffered in blaze.

Three pets died in a multi-family house fire on Montgomery Street on Saturday during a blaze that took firefighters over an hour to extinguish.

Bloomfield Fire Chief Joseph McCarthy told Patch that three dogs were killed in the conflagration, presumably from smoke inhalation.

Firefighters managed to rescue a cat from the scene, which animal control workers took to a local animal hospital, McCarthy said.
