Bloomfield Town Clerk Elected Vice Chair Of Waste Management Council

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Louise Palagano has been elected vice chair of the Joint Meeting of the Essex County Solid Waste Advisory Council and Municipal Recycling Coordinators, town officials in Bloomfield announced Wednesday.

Palagano – who serves as the municipal clerk and recycling coordinator in Bloomfield – will help to guide and coordinate efforts to enhance waste management practices and recycling initiatives across Essex County in her new role.

The Joint Meeting serves as a collaborative platform for municipalities and stakeholders to address regional waste management challenges, share best practices and formulate strategies for sustainable waste reduction and recycling programs.

According to a township news release, Palagano has been an “integral” part of the Township of Bloomfield, contributing to the development and implementation of effective recycling programs as recycling coordinator since 2018.

“Her expertise and passion for sustainable practices make her an ideal choice to help lead the efforts of the Essex County Solid Waste Advisory Council and Municipal Recycling Coordinators,” officials said.

“I am honored to have been elected vice chair of the Joint Meeting, and I am eager to work collaboratively with fellow coordinators and advisors to further our shared commitment to responsible waste management practices and environmental stewardship,” Palagano said.
