NEW JERSEY — Police believe they have found the body of a Bloomfield resident who was reported missing in North Jersey last week, authorities said Monday.
According to the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police, a deceased body was found at the base of a cliff at Rockefeller Lookout in Englewood Cliffs on Sunday.
The incident began when a parkway officer came across a 2010 Nissan Murano with a New York registration around 5 a.m. The officer soon learned that there was a missing/endangered advisory issued in connection with the vehicle for a 54-year-old Bloomfield resident.

The alert was issued by the Clifton Police Department on Friday after the missing man’s brother contacted them, authorities said.
After learning about the advisory, the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Detective Bureau responded to the scene. A K-9 unit from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office was also at the scene to help with the search, but wasn’t able to pick up a positive track from the area near the vehicle. In addition, a helicopter from the NYPD’s aviation unit canvassed the area with no results, authorities said.
