Burglary Attempt At Bloomfield Store Fails, Alarm Tripped: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — An apparent burglary attempt ended in failure when the alarm was tripped at a Bloomfield business last week, authorities said.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, an officer responded to a store on the 100-block of Franklin Street on Jan. 31 after receiving a report about an attempted burglary.

The owner said he learned about the incident after getting a call from his alarm company, which said the store’s alarm was going off. Nobody gained entry to the business, authorities said.

Police later observed damage to the front door and a window. An investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
