Car, Motorcycle Stolen In Bloomfield On April Fool’s Day: Police

One of the stolen vehicles – a motorcycle – was recovered just a few blocks away, Bloomfield police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A car and a motorcycle were stolen in Bloomfield on April Fool’s Day, authorities announced Wednesday.

The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each theft, noting that one of the vehicles – a motorcycle – was recovered just a few blocks away:

April 1 – “Officers responded to the area of Porter Place and Walnut Street on report of a motor vehicle theft. A resident parked his vehicle on the street overnight and upon returning to it the following morning, he noticed it was missing. The vehicle, a red 2020 Honda Accord, was entered into the NCIC as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”

April 1 – Officers responded to the 100-block of Washington Street on report of a motorcycle theft. A resident parked his motorcycle overnight in the Lackawanna Parking Garage and upon returning to it the following morning, he noticed it was missing. The complainant was able to use a GPS tracking device to locate the motorcycle a few blocks away. The motorcycle was damaged and the ignition was tampered with. This incident is under investigation.”
