Car With ‘For Sale’ Sign Stolen In Bloomfield; 4 Other Vehicle Thefts
Vehicles continue to be stolen in Bloomfield, with five thefts reported last week, authorities say.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Vehicles continue to be stolen in Bloomfield, with five thefts reported last week, authorities say.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each theft.
Oct. 12 – Officers responded to 8 Franklin Street (Stop & Shop parking lot) after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The victim parked the 2002 Toyota Sienna in the lot with a “For sale” sign displayed on it at 10 a.m. on Sept. 28. The victim said a family member went to retrieve the vehicle on Oct. 6, but the vehicle was no longer there. This incident is under investigation.

Oct. 13 – Officers responded to the 40-block of Grove Street after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The victim parked her 2017 VW Passat at 2 a.m. Upon returning to the area at approximately 9 a.m., she noticed her vehicle was missing. This incident is under investigation.
Oct. 13 – Officers responded to the area of Montgomery Street after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The victim parked his 2001 Jeep Cherokee on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. After returning to the area on Oct. 13, he noticed his was vehicle missing. This incident is under investigation.

Oct. 13 – Officers responded to the 300-block of Franklin Street after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The victim parked his 2006 Chevrolet Aveo in front of his residence on Aug. 10 prior to leaving for vacation. Upon returning to the area on Oct. 13, he noticed that his vehicle was missing. This incident is under investigation.
Oct. 14 – Officers responded to the 100-block of West Passaic Avenue after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The victim went outside to warm up his 2016 BMW 3 Series, and returned back into the residence for a brief time, leaving the keys in the vehicle. After returning outside, he noticed that someone was driving his vehicle away. This incident is under investigation.
