Car Stolen, Attempted Theft Reported In Bloomfield: Police
A car was stolen and an attempted vehicle theft was reported last week in Bloomfield, authorities said.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A car was stolen and an attempted vehicle theft was reported last week in Bloomfield, authorities said Thursday.
The Bloomfield Police Department released the following details about each incident.
March 15 – “Officers responded to the area of Berkeley Avenue on report of an attempted motor vehicle theft. A resident parked her vehicle on the street overnight and upon returning to it, she noticed that the rear passenger window was broken and the steering column was damaged. This incident is under investigation.”

March 18 – “Officers responded to the 400-block of Watsessing Avenue on report of a motor vehicle theft. A resident parked her vehicle on the street overnight and upon returning to it in the morning, she noticed it was missing. The vehicle, a black 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was entered into [the National Crime Information Center] as stolen. This incident is under investigation.”
