Car Stolen Outside Bloomfield Dunkin’ Donuts: Police

Another recent vehicle theft took place when its owner left the car parked in his driveway with the key fob inside, Bloomfield police said.

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A car was stolen recently outside a Dunkin’ location in Bloomfield while its owner was inside the store, authorities said Wednesday.

According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the Dunkin’ on Franklin Street on Nov. 7 after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft.

The victim said he left his 2014 Mercedes Benz running while he entered the store. A man then got out of a brown Kia, got into his car and fled the area, police said.

THEFT IN DRIVEWAY

Another vehicle theft was reported on Nov. 6, Bloomfield police said.

Officers responded to the area of Mountain Avenue after getting a report about a motor vehicle theft. The victim said he parked his 2023 Subaru in the driveway of the residence at 7 p.m. on Nov. 5. The next morning around 7:30 a.m., he noticed the vehicle was gone.

The key fob was left in the car, he told police.
