Carjacking In Bloomfield; Man Shoved To Ground: Police
A man was shoved to the ground during a carjacking in Bloomfield. The suspect is still at large, authorities said Wednesday.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A man was shoved to the ground during a carjacking in Bloomfield last week. The suspect is still at large, authorities said Wednesday.
According to the Bloomfield Police Department, officers responded to the area of North 17th Street and Beardsley Avenue at 5 a.m. on July 7 after receiving a report about a carjacking.
The victim was in the process of moving his vehicles in the driveway when a white SUV traveling south on North 17th Street approached his vehicle. A man got out of the passenger seat, shoved the victim to the ground and fled in the victim’s 2008 Subaru Forester, authorities said.

The vehicle was later recovered in Newark after it was involved in an accident, Bloomfield police said.
An investigation continues. The suspect is still at large, police said Wednesday.
