A police officer from Paterson has been accused of having a lewd encounter involving a child in Bloomfield, a report says.
BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A police officer from Paterson has been accused of having a lewd encounter involving a child in Bloomfield, a report says.
Bloomfield police said the child was walking home around 4 p.m. on Monday when a man called out from his vehicle and exposed himself before driving off. Police located the car and its driver soon afterwards, and the child identified Angel Acevedo, 31, as the suspect, NJ Advance Media reported.
Acevedo, a police officer in Paterson, has been suspended without pay, the report said. He was charged with third-degree endangering-sexual conduct with a child by a non-caretaker and lewdness as a disorderly person’s offense. Read the full article here.
