‘Door Knock’ Pranks Are Causing A Nuisance In Bloomfield: Police

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — A TikTok-based “challenge” is encouraging teens to bang or kick on a door in the middle of the night. And according to Bloomfield police, it’s causing a “nuisance” in the township.

The Bloomfield Police Department issued a message about the new trend on social media:

“The Bloomfield Police Department is well aware of a TikTok Door Knock Challenge which encourages teens to either bang or kick on a door in the middle of the night. This challenge is causing a nuisance in our community. This TikTok trend is causing both physical damage and emotional distress to residents of all ages. This post is to advise anyone who decides to participate in this challenge that we will have ZERO TOLERANCE for this trend and you will be charged criminally to the fullest extent.”

“Parents, we urge you to please speak to your children about the dangers of participating in this TikTok trend or any other challenges that may be on the rise,” Bloomfield police added.
